This avocado fries are healthy and so delicious, but they are also super simple to make. Preparation time is about 20 minutes and you will only need 3 ingredients to make them.
Panko breadcrumbs, avocado and aquafaba. I guess now you are asking what is aquafaba (this ingredient may be new to you). But, don’t worry! Aquafaba is just the liquid from canned beans. Stick a bowl under a colander, open a can of white beans, and dump them into the colander! The liquid in your bowl is the precious aquafaba.
You want your avocado fries to be lightly browned and crunchy. When you do that shake after five minutes, take a look at the progress. They should be beginning to brown, and when you shake, the panko shouldn’t fall off.
If your breading isn’t solid after 5 minutes, keep checking once a minute before doing vigorous shaking.
Ingredients for Oil-free Avocado Fries
- 1/2 cup panko breadcrumbs,
- 1 Haas avocado peeled, pitted, and sliced, and
- Aquafaba from 1 15 ounce can white beans or garbanzo beans. (It should work fine with other bean liquids).
In a shallow bowl, put panko breadcrumbs. Pour the aquafaba into another shallow bowl.
Dredge the avocado slices in the aquafaba and then in the panko, getting a nice, even coating. Arrange the slices in a single layer in your air fryer basket. The single layer is important. No overlapping!
Air fry for 10 minutes (Don’t preheat.) at 390F, shaking well after 5 minutes.
Serve immediately with your favorite dipping sauce! Enjoy.
